About us

We are Anett and Rauno, husband and wife and parents of two small children. And we created (and still create) garbage.

Sorting the garbage seemed troublesome, because there was not enough space under the sink to create different garbage cans, and it seemed that the bio-waste produced an unpleasant smell, so it was many times easier to throw all the garbage into the household garbage.

However, one moment became embarrassing while observing the garbage management of the outside world. Less than a third of the waste generated in Estonian homes is recycled today, although more than half of the waste should be recycled.

How come we can't sort our garbage? Everything starts at home. If we are able to sort waste at home, we will probably sort more at our workplaces, with relatives or friends, and create a positive habit for our children as well. All the more so since from January 1, 2024, the separate collection of bio-waste is mandatory in every Estonian household.

Then we made simpler arrangements at home and started collecting paper, packaging and bio-waste by type. Collecting the first two separately didn't require a lot of effort, but we didn't have enough space to collect bio-waste anymore, and that's how BRYKKAR was born.

The Brykkar bio waste bin can be placed in a kitchen of any size, because it fits on any surface with its compactness and tasteful appearance. It is easy to use and even easier to clean, i.e. the perfect solution for people living in an apartment who cannot use a composter for bio-waste.

Our mission is to help people sort their waste as conveniently and consciously as possible, so that the stuff that can be reused does not end up in a landfill or an incinerator, but ends up in circulation.

And why exactly Brykkar? Because sorting trash is a gamble in a good way, and quite often we found ourselves at large gatherings and workplaces with our hands in the trash can to move the wrongly sorted waste of our colleagues correctly ;)

 Let's just sort.
